Trees & leafs & friends & seasons
Since last few days I was thinking that I am getting entangled by the mechanism named life , in the worldly affairs, in the good and bad experiences. Every worse experience was like end of life at that point of time. Life beyond that seemed impossible. But that never happened. :-) Every success was high crest and every failure was deep trough.
Met people, made friends, few stayed on and few moved on. I was thinking of old school friends when friends made so much to average school goer.
I never made very many friends...but had list of friends with size more than 1 at all the stages of life-school,college. I was thinking of friends which i made in school and college today.Slowly I lost contact with many of them. Many got married, became parents and became busy in their rspective life. Many moved on to greener pastures and never looked back. Made new friends and again clicked chords with them. It reminds of failing leafs of tree..leafs fall & new leaves come on the tree. Some leafs might stay longer than others but eventually every leaf falls one day or the other. As long as tree is healthy enough to bear new leafs,it will be loaded with leaves. It will have leafs as per the season-something more something less.So much similar to life of humans. The point is to go on in the life no matter what is the season.

why me ?
Many times we hear that we reap what we sow. But is that true ?
Also, when disaster hits us we tend to pity ourself by saying or asking God why me ? After some time we forget- why me and tend to handle the situation. Why me is incorrect thinking...Children are born to parents who are unwilling to take care of them for various reasons & leave them to ashram etc..what was the fault of 2 days old child ? Innocent people are deceived and used by clever people. What is fault of innocent people ? We can never ask the question- why me ? because we will never get the reason and may be we come out of self pity sooner...

Do your best and let life do the rest
I came across this line and liked it immensely. Decided to write some lines on this. As a kid in school,we used to get some one liners and were asked to write few sentences on it.
What this means is that we need to put in the best of our ability but we should not think of results. Life will respond back if our efforts are sincere and honest. May be some dreams are unfulfilled.Sometimes luck does not smile on us and our endeavour are not rewarded. Sometimes one gets to a point where one knows that nothing is working. It's not about losing hope. It's about trusting life. Millons of people have come to this earth before us and millon will come after us. Each one had some wishes fulfilled & many unfullfilled. It's not easy to let go of what you want. But why wouldn't you if something even better is waiting just around the corner? Hope for the best and do work to the best of ability. Have faith in almight's justice.

Robin Sharma's Blog Item
I was reading Robin Sharma's blog ..he writes really too well. One of the excerpts :-
Problems are Servants Tue June 12, 2007
We all face challenges. It's the human condition. Everyone, on this very day, is dealing with something they wish they weren't dealing with. Some have lost a loved one. Others are facing an illness. For others, it's a money issue or a frustration at work. Yes, it's no fun. But just maybe every problem you encounter is an opportunity in disguise. And if you're wise to that, you can leverage the challenge for even greater success.
In some ways, leadership is a mind game. Positive thinking is a lot more important than the cynics would suggest. The founders of Google used positive thinking to overcome their early setbacks and to stay true to their vision. Sam Walton used positive thinking to build an empire. And the best managers use positive thinking to help their teams see that what ordinary people view as stumbling blocks, the best amongst us see as stepping stones.
Because problems are servants. And they truly can serve you well. If you choose to let them.

Graduation Speech 2005 by Steve jobs
Steve Jobs' address to Stanford's graduating class of 2005 was in very mould of speaker . I liked the following part from his speech :
"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."

The early bird! incontinution of Just 8 hours a day

Just 8 hours a day !
I am working in software industry for more than 6 years. Initially,I worked like dogs - giving my sweat to this industry. I was starry-eyed graduate who wanted to reach great heights in her career and some how time put in the office for work became proportional to heights achieved in career. But now with time things gave changed for me.I dont like to work for more than 8 hours a day in office. I want to come on time and leave on time and also,do my work up to the mark . The very fact that i want to do my work properly means than I have not become un ambitious. But there is some change in attitude and thinking. I like a life of sweet 7 o'clock mornings with sunrise and 10pm all quiet and lights off. I do not desire to be awake later than 11:00pm in the night. I feel sane with that routine of ontime. My life seems to be in control. For the rest of the day, I would prefer to do other things like cook, clean, organise, think about my life, spend time with my people or just sit and do nothing. That is my personal choice of life.
I understand that software industry is based on competition but we should also understand that it is based on quality of work.
Is it possible to have a 9 to 5 routine and be a good performer? Not in the industry I come from. I have scintillating evidence for that. May be people never thought that it could be done. I distinctly remember that when i was studying in 11th standard,my friend's elder sister "Jitendra Kaur" was in 12th standard. She was our role model-studious,good in sports and without any affairs attached to her (:-) and high moral values-dream child for her parents. Now she is senior research scientist in AIIMS delhi after doing her MPhil from DU.I remember that she never burned mid-night oils like all of us.She told me that she will do most of studies in class room only,go back to home & study for another 2-3 hours and thats it. I remember that at that time fashion/fad was to study till mid-night 12'o clok for last 5 months of board exams. But she never did that and still passed with some 85%. I believe that brain needs rest and with rest,it works better. If we can use the concentration and brain power when you are awake-one need not work for more than 8 hours a day.
Lets come to point which i was thinking- putting in 8 hours a day in IT industry and still be good at our work. Now I am tired of long working hours and I dont want them no more. I want to organise my house,do cooking, read newspaper, pray to GOD and generally be happy.
Actually it all depends on what you want to commit yourself to. If you are committed to only that one thing in life and that is career, you going the right way by putting in long working hours. But what if you have more than one loves in life and you want to do justice to all of them. What if you want to have a balanced life- a little bit of everything? Some electronics, some sunlight, some moonlight, some good old music, some nice cooking, sometime to go for a long nature walk and some peaceful good old sleep. Is it too difficult to achieve.I think it is rational. Maybe I should try and experiment to see how much of it is possible. Just 8 hours every day!

Ordinarily, I'm not into diary writing and that kind of thing, but when I do write, it's usually one of those days when I'm having a bad day and trying to understand life's mystery. Today, was one of the particularly bad ones-nothing working for me. Why do we turn for divine help when things get out of hand from us ? If it is karma theory then we are getting back the medicine which we gave to others at some point of time.
Rumsfeld Unveils New Justification For Iraq War: High Gas Prices
I must say that I am impressed by the reasoning of the war between america and iraq. :-)
Rumsfeld Unveils New Justification For Iraq War: High Gas Prices
Prior to the war, the administration stressed that the United States needed to invade Iraq because Saddam Hussein possessed WMDs and had connections to al-Qaeda. None of that turned out to be true.
Now, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld has introduced a new rationale for the invasion of Iraq, high gas prices. From a radio interview last week:
SECRETARY RUMSFELD: The fact of the matter is - if Saddam Hussein were still in power in Iraq, he would be rolling in petrol dollars. Think of the price of oil today. He would have so much money. And he would be seeing the Iranians interested in a nuclear program, he would be seeing the North Koreans developing a nuclear program, and he’d say well why shouldn’t he - and he would. So we’re fortunate that he’s gone.
Of course, one of the reason gas prices are high is instability in the Middle East — created, in part, by the invasion of Iraq.

suppose everyone can make 2 nodes down a person and india's population is 100 crores.

536870912 ---> 2 ^ 29
1073741824 --> 2 ^ 30
that means that if whole india participats in this scheme that it can be covered in 30 layers (height of the tree shall be 30)
people who are the lowest layer will be the loser of the money (totally losing it)
1073741824 - 536870912 = 536870912 people will be total losers.
One assumption is that it is balanced tree which will not be the case in real life.it will be skewed.
It is definite that people at the end of the tree (height 28,29,30) will be losers.
It looks like a major scam. But what surprises me is that people who think that they are smart and intelligent, are falling into the trap and really not understanding it.
Also,I do not understand why people refuse to believe & analyse the scheme and simply fall into it with the tall claim that they are smart. May be they are over smart people(pun intended)

Retirement
may 31 2007
Today my mother is getting retired from government job. She is been working since she was 18+ years old.Such a long time in employment, managing home, childrens, relatives, friends etc.
she has a big circle of relatives and friends. Retirement is the point where a person stops employment/work completely but life does not stop.

Water
Few days back I watched "Water" movie with my husband. I was really impressed with the acting of the little girl-chuhia (small female rat) and Seema Biswas. It was a good thought provoking film on woman widowhood set in early nineties.
The unfortunate women who can not be "sati" are doomed to live austere life. Widowed women were supposed to spend days chanting prayers in praise of GOD and ask alms for making their living. Family was supposed to disown them.Widow remarriage was prohibited by dharma pandits and shastras. And on top of that, child marriage was norm of the day. I wonder millons of woman must be living downtrodden life in early nineties.
But I have always maintained that some where woman are responsible for their bad(?) conditions.Man were always law makers and women carried them out without questions.

Life is unfair
Who said life is fair ? Life is unfair and get used to it. These are famous words by Bill Gates, owner of Microsoft.
When we see ourselves as victims, we become caught in our circumstance whether it be a past or present experience. Our natural response to negative situations is anger. The fact is that we live in a sinful world. However, problems arise when we see life from an unfair perspective. We feel bad; therefore, we try to find things to compensate for the bad feelings.
Yes, there are injustices. Guiltless people are sent to prison. Terrorists make plans to strike at innocent citizens. Medals and Awards are presented for political reasons instead of merit. To rise up and fight against these and other forms of inequity is not only proper, but ennobling.
If we catch ourselves harbouring unjustified thoughts that the world is unfair, it’s time to change our views. Why? Because such views are unproductive. They are self-defeating.

wishes
I am downloading a official document to work on and since it is slow & taking up my time so i decided to write something. I always liked to read good books.Somehow I think that they give intellectual ting to your personality. Just few moments back, I had many things to write about. But now I feel blank - completely wiped out. Very strange.
I have never been much of a writer-never ever written any story in teenage and never got any prize in story writing though i like to write since child hood. I have no formal training or professional experience with writing. But its always been a little dream in my heart to use words to touch a few heartstrings, hold someone's attention. I like to use good and apt words even in my daily conversation.

Life is what happens to you when you are busy making other plans
Today my enthusiastic husband wants me to pen my thoughts on blogspot. I am very low on enthusiasm and initiative side.. prefer to live the way it is happening manytime (maybe most of the times) but he is opposite to me in many ways and same in many other ways. Lets start on the blog now.
When I hit upon the title-line few years ago,I thought that I have understood it.But to my dismay I have understood new meaning of it which seems to be the best explaination right now. I m sure that few years down the time frame,I will extract another new meaning from it which will seem to be best explaination at that time. Thoughts & perceptions keep changing, maybe getting finer & crisp day by day - may be this is maturing up process. Saying goes "Man proposes and God disposes" which is another good explaination of Life is what happens to you when ....
